Hello everybody! This morning we woke up and went to the sea. We were looking for species and suddenly we saw a Pinna nobilis (Nacra).
It belongs to the phylum of the mollusca and it is a bivalve. It can be found in the Mediterranean sea. It is usually 30-50 cm long, but can reach up to 1 meter in length. It lives between 2 and 50 meters of profundity.
This species is very special because it is in danger of extinction, so it is very difficult to find it. We have decided that we will notify Observadores del Mar of this find, because we want to help save the species . The fact that one has grown in Tossa means that there are the right conditions to grow more Pinna nobilis.
We are very happy to learn and see more things everday in this camp!
